Final meeting update:

I. Click here for more information about the meeting.

COST Action EURO-FBP (FA1408) promotes collaboration between scientists working on foodborne parasites in Europe.

The goal of COST Action EURO-FBP (FA1408) is to decrease the impact on human health from foodborne parasites (FBP), through establishing a risk-based control programme for FBP containing robust and appropriate protective strategies.

WG 2 update
The overview of laboratories with expertise on FBP in Europe is now available here.

Previous EURO-FBP activities

EURO-FBP  WG1 workshop meeting
“Surveillance for FBP in Europe: how do we know what is there?”
Picture
The main aim of the meeting was for the regional coordinators to move forward on assimilating the pro-active surveillance information (sub-task 1.3), with the intention of clarifying any data gaps and determining how and where the outputs should be presented.

Venue: Belgrade, Serbia
Hosts: Olgica Djurkovic-Djakovic, with support from Ivana Klun and Branko Bobic

Date: November 2018

EURO-FBP Training school in Riga
The 2018 EURO-FBP TS (Faculty of Biology, University of Latvia,17-20 Sept) is now over. According to feedback from the 20 attending trainees and 5 trainers the event was a great success. We would like to thank those that contributed to making the TS happen!

Due to the high number of applicants that did not get a place in last years TS we decided to organize a similar event again. Thus, this training school was also aimed at teaching optimization and troubleshooting of methods used to extract, amplify, and sequence nucleic acids from contaminated matrices and isolated foodborne parasites.

Local organizer: Gunita Deksne
Trainers: Karin Troell, Marco Lalle, Kristin Elwin and Gereon Schares.
