WG1 members

A complete list of WG members can be found in the members section.

WG 1 will focus on region-specific ranking of FBP and means to survey FBP through integration or modification of the national and international surveillance systems in Europe.

The ranking of FBP in Europe will be done as the global FAO/WHO ranking, according to prevalence, incidence, severity of illness; available treatment; frequency of occurrence; prevention strategies in place; economic impact. Region-specific ranking is an important mechanism to enable proper consideration of the full breadth and complexity of FBP. This is vital for the individual groups and scientists with a parasite-specific focus, and also enables an evidence-based prioritization of the various FBP by region. This is a useful outcome for end-users and stakeholders. In addition, surveillance systems for other foodborne pathogens will be considered, according to their potential for inclusion of FBP or modification for inclusion of FBP.
